This article gives the results of research that aims to address the role of affective variables motivation and attitudes in learning Spanish as a foreign language (E / LE) in formal school context.
This study is in the field of acquisition of Spanish as a foreign language for German adult learners. We opted for a methodology that adapts to the correlational descriptive models to establish the possible relations between the variables studied. To measure statistically any correlation between the variables studied, we applied the Pearson Correlation Coefficient (r).
It is intended, first, to ascertain the type and degree of dominant motivation of informants to learn the Spanish/FL, and, on the other, identify attitudes toward different factors of teaching-learning process and the possible correlation thereof, of the linguistic and perseverance in learning the LO.
To collect data on the extent and type of motivation and attitudes tool has been used as a questionnaire designed for that purpose. The results were controlled language through language level test conducted by the teaching staff of the center. Finally, persistence has been shown by the enrollment of the next two quarters.
