Abstract

The article ‘Online Translation Use in Spanish as a Foreign Language Essay Writing: Effects on Fluency, Complexity and Accuracy’ by Kent Fredholm, provides new approaches for the use of ITC tools in FL teaching, introducing as a novelty some online Machine Translation applications as valid tools for the acquisition of written skills and, therefore, the use of the translating activity as a learning method. This review comments the findings within this article and those possible alternative uses of translation and its associated software in language teaching.
