IN.MIGRA2-CM: Turning the translation classroom into a terminology workshop

The work presented here focuses on a practical experience carried out in the translation classroom, conceived as a sort of professional workshop with the aim of implementing a methodology that responds to the needs of the third social sector and, more specifically, those in the field of migration. The starting hypothesis is the consideration that mastering terminology allows the translator to master a specialization (passive competence) without necessarily having to be an expert in the subject (active understanding).
This work has been developed within the framework of the project IN.MIGRA2-CM (Ref: H2015 / HUM3404): "Migrant population in the Autonomous Community of Madrid: a multidisciplinary study and creation of tools for sociolinguistic integration", with funding from the Community of Madrid and the European Social Fund.
