Abstract

This paper proposes literary education as a complement to language education in adult literacy in an additional language, taking graphic narrative as a learning channel with multiple possibilities within the framework of the pedagogy of multiliteracies and visual thinking. To this end, a literary corpus of illustrated albums, comics and wordless graphic novels has been selected for migrant literacy that can be used to support the teaching of the language of the host country and that, given their subject matter, awaken the affective resonance of the readers. Through these resources, not only linguistic literacy is promoted, but also visual and emotional literacy and critical thinking are addressed.
