To be? Unresolved issues for Spanish as a language foreign

Although the article 'The mental images in the acquisition of second-language grammar: the case of' being 'and' being 'in Spanish' by Morales and Smith is interesting because of the theme and the attempt to adopt an innovative methodology that could explain the process that the apprentices of Spanish whose mother tongue is the English follow at the time of the acquisition of both copulative verbs; however, this article suffers from serious deficiencies, both theoretical and methodological. In this comment I will stick to those of a theoretical nature with the task of throwing some ideas for those researchers interested in the investigation of Spanish as L2, and more specifically in some of its grammatical aspects such as "ser" / "estar" due to its complexity.
