Abstract

All through this article we have tried to present in a summarized way the role the Theory of Curricula and Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching plays and its development. In order to achieve this, we have surveyed the most significant aspects of curriculum theory and the way to implement a curriculum in foreign language teaching to answer questions such as what to teach, when to teach, what, how and when to evaluate in different levels of teaching. To design a curriculum, therefore, supposes to undergo a decision-making process that the teacher must assume as fundamental in order to make his or her intervention adequate to the real needs of its application.
