Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify the infinitive constructions that are more used as well as those more avoided by university students, learners of French as a foreign language, in written texts. Moreover, we would like to determine the possible reasons for this avoidance in their texts. The research was conducted with students from the career of Teaching French as a Foreign Language from the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Guadalajara. We consider that the results of this research will help to change the practices of teaching French as a foreign language, especially in the contents to be offered in the classroom about the infinitive and all its morphosyntactic importance.
