Abstract

In this text it is defended that the theory that conceives in languages as a complex dynamic system must have a medium term a reflection in the methodology and teaching of L2 / E beyond the level of influence that it has had through the theory of networks in fields such as teaching vocabulary. For this, the theory of the complex is briefly presented as a part of the chaotic systems paradigm based on the metaphorical image of the networks of meaning, well known and used in the design of activities in L2. Finally, the utility in the medium term for applied linguistics of exploring the vision of the language as a dynamic system is pointed out and some of the areas that may be affected by the assumption of these theories (acquisition, programming or methodology).
