This study documents the development of intercultural awareness (IA) in a university student of Spanish as a second language (L2) through her participation in a pedagogical intervention developed in an immersion context. The intervention emphasizes the exploration of intercultural differences through poems, drawings, or infographics. These creative tools, characterized by their flexibility and multimodality, not only assist students to convey their message but also serve as catalysts for self-exploration and discovery. The results of this research reflect that the student leverages the creative opportunities provided during the intervention for the development of her agency projection. This development enables her to transcend intercultural conflict or difference, transforming it into a learning opportunity, contributing to the development of her IA.
