Abstract

This is the presentation of the thematic section of issue 35 of the Revista Nebrija de Lingüística Aplicada a la Enseñanza de Lenguas.

Author Biographies

Carmen López Ferrero, Pompeu Fabra University

Professor of Spanish Language and Discourse Studies at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). Her research and publications focus on Text Linguistics and Discourse Studies, as well as on Linguistics applied to language learning and its evaluation; she has published books and articles on these subjects. She has supervised nineteen doctoral theses on language learning and discourse. Her most recent publications include  Estudios del discurso (Discourse Studies, co-editor with I. E. Carranza and T. A. van Dijk, Routledge, 2022) and the book Introducción al léxico: componente transversal de la lengua  (with P. Battaner, Cátedra Lingüística, 2019).

Eduardo Negueruela Azarola, Princeton University

Professor of Spanish as a second language at Princeton University (USA). His research focuses on sociocultural psychology applied to ELE, concepts as tools for thinking, interpersonal communication, creativity and language teaching, identity and personal narratives in language learning, participatory action research and teacher preparation. He has supervised twelve doctoral theses related to ELE. His most recent publications include Teoría Sociocultural y español LE/L2 (Routledge, 2024).
