Spelling in lexical availability surveys

Abstract

The present work is based on surveys on lexical availability made with 484 students of 3rd and 4th of Compulsory Secondary Education and 1st and 2nd of Baccalaureate of Alcalá de Henares (spanish High School).  They were asked to write down the highest number of possible words in relation to 17 Centers of Interest. We obtained a corpus formed by 155.815 words that also contained information about sex of the respondents, the place of residence, age and academic level. The immediate work objective was to know f knowing and analyze the available lexicon of the students.
