In Corpus Linguistics several lines of research address the description of a certain genre texts from a set of linguistic features. Since only describe linguistic word level, these studies on native production can fail to give a comprehensive description of the corpus. However, the study of the frequency of use of the same features in nonnative corpus has a potential descriptive power and instructional consequences. This commentary invites to open Genís & Orduna research to systematic replication and complementary research to give an empirical basis at interlanguage knowledge in academic communication.
