Author Biographies

Virginia Sciutto, University of Salento

Researcher and Associate Professor of "Language and Translation - Spanish Language" at the Department of Humanistic Studies, University of Salento, Italy. She graduated in "Foreign Languages and Literatures" at the University of L'Aquila and obtained her PhD in "Culture and Institutions in the Countries of Iberian Languages in Modern and Contemporary Times" at the University of Naples "L'Orientale". At the same university she subsequently worked as a contract lecturer in "Spanish Language of America" and "Spanish Language and Linguistics for Specific Purposes". She gives seminars at Italian and foreign universities. She is a member of the editorial board and editor in charge of the "Spanish Language" section of the international journal Lingue e Linguaggi e Finibus Terræ of the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Salento. Her research interests include: phraseology, descriptive and applied linguistics of the Spanish language, corpus linguistics, translation and sociolinguistic variation of Spanish. He has participated in numerous national and international conferences and seminars. His main publications include sociolinguistic studies on language contact in the Río de la Plata area, studies on the phraseology of Argentinean Spanish, and Italian-Spanish and Spanish-Italian translation.

María Dolores Asensio Ferreiro, Complutense University of Madrid

PhD Cum Laude in French Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and Degree in French Philology from the UCM. She is a member of the UCM Research Group 930235 Phraseology and Paremiology (PAREFRAS), included in the CEI Moncloa, Clúster Patrimonio Cultural, member of the Aforismos work team linked to the UCM Research Group (PAREFRAS) and member of the research project Refranero multilingüe, published on the website of the Instituto Cervantes, where she collaborates in the section of French paremias. She has participated in 7 Innova Docente and Innova-Gestión projects at UCM. She is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philology (UCM), where she teaches French Language. She has given seminars in Spanish and foreign universities and actively participates in international scientific conferences and congresses. She develops an intense and continuous research activity on the learning and acquisition of foreign languages (LE) and is the author of several books and articles. Her main lines of research are: LE didactics, phraseology and paremiology applied to LE didactics, LE teaching/learning/acquisition, plurilingualism and multilingualism and, in particular, trilingualism at an early age.
