About the Journal

Nebrija Journal of applied linguistics to language teaching (RNAEL) is a peer-reviewed open access journal and receives submissions of scientific articles for blind revision. All articles should address the fields of applied linguistics. Monographic issues will also be published. The aim of this journal is multidisciplinary and multilingual so that articles can be submitted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French or Italian. Revista Nebrija de Lingüística Aplicada a la Enseñanza de las Lenguas publishes two issues a year (Spring and Autumn) and has two sections: 

1) Monograph section, previously organized, with call for papers, and coordinated by experts in the topics such as editors. The theme may be approached from a particular or, preferably, interdisciplinary linguistics perspective. Section normally consist of 5-7 articles (approximately 6,000-8,000 words). Each thematic section is normally overseen by a special guest editor. The title of the monograph section and the name of the guest editor(s) are communicated on call for papers. All papers in each of the thematic section are subject to peer review and benefit from comments and editorial guidance from the guest editor.Editing times are indicated in each call for "Forthcoming issues".

2) Miscellanea: varied contributions within the general subject of publication. The Editorial Board will assign the manuscript to the appropriate section. Authors may submit manuscripts for evaluation at any time. Editing times are shown on the page corresponding to the editing process.

Nebrija Journal of applied linguistics to language teaching is an Open Access, journal: all articles will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. Permitted third party (re)use is defined by the following Creative Commons user license

This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Public License.The fulfilment of these formal instructions for the submission of originals constitutes one of the criteria for the acceptance of works for their publishing. Papers that do not follow these guidelines will be returned to the author. The articles published must be original in their whole extension and should not be presented for a first edition in another Journal.

Submission, publication and peer review process are completely free of charge for authors who retain the copyright to their articles. Since the journal publishes only original articles, republications are requested to cite the original publication.

Manuscripts should be sent as an electronic copy in Word for Windows or equivalent to revista.la@nebrija.es.Once the manuscript has been received, the author(s) will receive an acknowledgment of receipt where the status of the article is reported or where it is informed that the manuscript will not be sent for review because of incompliance with the guidelines for publication and / or with the fields of specialty.

Review of manuscripts is done by at least two pairs of anonymous reviewers and is followed by their report within four months. The Editor will e-mail the author(s) about the possibility of publishing the manuscript, along with an acknowledgment of acceptance, a report with observations or, if necessary, a report containing the inappropriateness of the manuscript.The review process can be extended to 12 months, although the current average is lower.
