This article shoes a general reflection on the foundations that support works related to the individual and social variables of the students and their influence on language learning processes. From this discussion we propose the creation of a platform to bring together criteria, methodologies and results, to optimize the efforts made in this field and develop a conceptual framework, operational and structurally sound to allow significant progress in research and development on issues related to the centrality of the student in the teaching / learning.
